Knowing the difference of each one will make your coverage easier for you to understand especially when applying for a San Jose insurance quote. Although San Jose insurance would try their best to make you understand the insurance quote that you are trying to avail. It is still best to do a little research of your own so that you can immediately tell San Jose insurance what you want and they could give you a corresponding insurance quote depending on what you have requested.

Group health insurance

A group insurance is what you will get if you are part of a group that availed of coverage. You usually get this through an employer. Many companies are offering health coverage benefits to its employees as an added bonus for them in being loyal to the company. These companies often get great discounts because they are availing insurance coverage for a group which can give more profit to an insurance company. If you are an employer than this is the best and what you may be looking for to avail and get that special rate.

Individual health insurance

As compared to group insurance, this is more expensive when it comes to insurance quotes. Here, you will have to pay for your own insurance premium to get coverage. Most self employed individual and free lancers are taking advantage of one because they can’t rely on employers to give them that health benefits since they don’t have one.

PPO
PPO or Preferred provider Organization is a type of health insurance where there is an organized group of doctors, medical hospitals and other health organizations. They will bundle their service with an insurance company to provide discount rate for the use of their services. The discounts given are then passed on to the insured so that they can avail of the health services of the group of medical practitioners.

HMO
Health Maintenance Organization or HMO are mostly what group insurance buyers are getting as it is the one commonly offered as a group health provider. As compared to PPO it is sterner in terms of the policy. You will have to pay monthly and there is also what you call as gatekeepers which are the selected primary care physicians for other specialized care needed. They are called gatekeepers because you will need to have approval from your primary health provider before you could avail of the services of other health providers.

POS
POS or point of service plan is a combination of both PPO and HMO health insurance plan. Here you get to have the freedom to choose your primary health provider or your own primary care physician as your point of service. That point of service can always refer you to outside of the network physician but you can only enjoy limited coverage.

Now you know the different types of health insurance coverage, all you have to do is get an insurance quote with your choice of plan and start paying for it to ensure that you get coverage as soon as possible.
